I hope this will help others trying to decide. Size medium: shoulder width (seam to seam) 16", armpit to armpit (or across the bust) is 21 3/4" Size large: shoulder width (seam to seam) 16 3/4"; armpit to armpit (across the bust 23 1/2" I am 5' 5 1/2", approx 150, rectangular body shape. I ordered the medium.
