Enhancing experiences

Tommy Bahama is where you can breathe freely, live spontaneously, and relax in style—all with the peace of mind you deserve. It’s why we’re bringing sustainability into the experiences we create in our stores, restaurants, and Marlin Bars.

Our Island experience is built on the values of exceptional quality and stress-free living. Sustainability will become another quality you can count on from Tommy Bahama.

From featuring local, organic food on our restaurant and Marlin Bar menus to minimizing plastic packaging in our stores, we’re reducing the environmental footprint of the Tommy Bahama experience.

Sustainably sourced food

Our Restaurants and Marlin Bars are the fullest expression of the Tommy Bahama ethos: relaxed, carefree living built with quality, creativity and hospitality. We believe in sourcing the very best ingredients that come from partners committed to long-term sustainability. Our seafood is sourced using the Monterey Bay Aquarium standards, which consider species, catch, and location in its criterion when possible. Our beef and pork are all natural and sourced from trusted partners focused on ethical ranching practices. Our close relationships with local farmers allow us to provide organic produce when possible but always with proximity in mind. Rest assured, that quality does not come at the expense of our environment.

Our plan now, and for the future

We’ve implemented simple solutions, like eliminating plastic straws and using compostable containers for takeout food, and we’re tackling more complex issues, like energy use and building materials.

Over the next few years, we will continue evaluating and implementing sustainable practices at all of our restaurants and Marlin Bar locations.

Retail

Retail

our plan now, and for the future

We've minimized the impact of packaging at our stores, and will continue finding ways to lessen it further.

We’ve replaced our plastic bags with ones made from 40% post-consumer recycled paper, and are now making all shopping bags domestically.

All of our retail stores supply e-receipts to our guests, saving paper.

Apparel

our plan now, and for the future

We've reduced the size of the packaging we use to ship our clothes, which is made of 100% post-consumer recycled material.

We’ve removed metal clips from our packaging, saving 2.7 million clips from going to waste. We've also removed tissue from our packaging wherever possible, which will save 7.4 million pieces of tissue every year.

We've replaced our shirts’ plastic collar band and stay with FSC 100% post-consumer recycled cardboard.

Starting in Spring 2020, all of our woven labels will be made from 100% recycled polyester.

For our in-store branding, we have eliminated all vellum, and all paper is FSC certified or 100% recycled paper.
