Clamp is only glued on
I have two of these. The base is absolutely stable and impressive on breezy afternoons. But on our last visit to the beach, one of the umbrellas did not hold up and the top half pole pulled apart from the bottom half, at the top of the bottom pole. The bottom pole stayed in the sand, but the the plastic clamp that is part of the bottom pole for the connection came right off with the umbrella! It's merely glued as you can see in the photos. Literally impaled my chair right next to my head! This is a serious flaw. The other umbrella held up, but now I have no confidence. This was only the fourth time using these umbrellas. WHAT A WASTE.

Best beach umbrella
We have used this in 25 mile an hour winds and it stayed very sturdy. The screw is longer than our other Tommy Bahama umbrella coupled with the sand X base this is awesome, lightweight and easy to set up. Highly recommended!

I expected better
I like the anchorx design, however if you want to sit near the water this umbrella won't work. The handles are not strong enough to get the point all the way in to the sand. It only works in the soft sand. After using the umbrella twice I've noticed that the sand point has started to put a hole on the the umbrella top.
I purposely spent extra money because I thought I was getting a better product. That is not what I got.

Very sturdy & durable at a good price
Saw this at the Jersey shore. The family who had it loved it. Solid construction with the umbrella portion held up by aluminum struts, not your typical rods that blow open or bend. Has a strong durable auger and handle to secure into the sand. Also like the fold down fabric and metal stabilizer to keep the pole even more secure in the sand. It came sooner than expected.
The price is worth it for the extra features you get versus the traditional beach umbrella.

What an upgrade!!
We really liked the old umbrella and were a little wary of the design change. It is so much sturdier. So much easier to put in sand and remove. So glad we upgraded!
