I'll give you an honest opinion: as a tall man myself, 6 ft. 4 in and 240 lb. I loved this chair. It was the most comfortable beach chair I have ever owned until the stitching started coming out of the seat to which I had to exchange it for the original, Tommy Bahama chair, which was not as comfortable for a tall boy. I wish they made the stitching stronger. And make the chair big and strong.

Very Poor Product
I order a higher chair after having my original Tommy Bahama chair for years. I took it the the Jersey Shore for the week and on the first day, the screws came out of the right arm rest. On the second day, the pull up canopy shade attachment became stuck and I was not able to raise it again. I just got back from the shore after having to use another chair for the remainder of the week. Highly disappointed to say the least.

Wish that it performed better.
I purchased this chair online for our recent Jersey Shore vacation. I own several Tommy Bahama beach chairs and have loved them, though they are the lower style makes it hard for me to get in and out of. I chose this particular chair as it sit higher than most other options making it easier to enter and exit it on the beach. I also like the protection the shade offered. While the chair is attractive and comfortable to sit in it has two major drawbacks that would deter me from purchasing another.
1. Because of its size, is it difficult carry. The strap does not allow for comfortable positioning on the back, especially when you are traversing sand dunes and big stretches of beach. Also it does not completely secure the chair in a closed positon making it awkward to carry. After awhile it caused sore spots on my back. It would have been nice to have two padded straps like the smaller beach chairs have, but it appeares that the size of the chair coupled with the shade make that impossible.
2. While the sun shade provided good cover on sunny days and held up well to the winds, it was difficult to put up and down after the first day. It took several minutes of playing with the plastic guides on each side in order to achieve the desired position. All the manipulation created stress lines in the plastic guides so I expect that the will eventually fail with future use.
I am also disappointed that the chair did not have an insulated pouch on the back like the some of the smaller models have. It is great to put a sandwich and cold drink in there.
Wish that it performed better. It just did not seem to hold up to the Tommy Bahama standard that I have come to expect.

Love the beach
Worst chair ever. Looks attractivr ,Super Heavy and fell apart after used 3-4 times. All the screws came apart at the same time while sitting in it. Don't wast your money on this one.

Not great quality
I own two of these chairs. The screws continue to need replacing as they fall out. I've done a few repairs which last only one or two uses. Disappointed in the lack of quality. Additionally, after one season, the Shade arms no longer extend upwards just past mid point. They appear to be locked. Almost unusable as is.
