Tommy Bahama Travel Cigar Humidor is Satisfactory
I recently purchased the Tommy Bahama Travel Cigar Humidor, and I'm mostly satisfied with my purchase and the product, although it could use some improvement. First off, the leather exterior is very nice and supple although it feels sturday and has lots of padding underneath. This will be great in not only protecting the box but in impressing those around. When unzipped, the inside cedar is of good quality and has the amazing aroma of fresh cedar as well, which is beneficial to good cigars aging and storage. My biggest complaints are that the humidifier itself comes with little directions - I'm not sure whether or not to pop the sponge out of its celophane/flimsy plastic before filling because I can't tell if the distilled water or solution is actually filling it. Secondly, besides the zipper, there is no other solid closure between the sides, allowing humidity to potentially escape through the zipper openings. Lastly, the humidor is very specific as to cigar size and ring gauge - you can't get a larger stick than about 50 ring inside and no more than about 6 inches long. If your preferred cigar is longer or thicker, you're out of luck unless you remove the humidifier along with the shorter insert and leave that compartment open. Still, all in all for what it is, I'm impressed enough with the look and feel of this that I'm sure I'll be using it when traveling to and from cigar venues, if not on any major travel.
