Umbrella
Broke in the wind second day of trip, no other umbrellas broke. The telescope pole is a pretty good design, and the twist pole to secure it into the sand. But for $75 umbrella that is broken is no bueno. Going to try a different brand.

Lives up to the hype
Sitting on Tybee island watching people struggle to post their beach umbrellas and others blow away. My Tommy Bahama umbrella has been screwed into the ground once and hasn’t needed to be adjusted. The angle of the shade is the only touch required. This is the only beach umbrella you will need.

Great umbrella!
Very easy to use and carry ! Even super windy day at the beach, it holds steady and not break. Perfect size for 2 people. Looks so fancy and we love the Tommy Bahama logo on the umbrella! We will use it a lot for sure !

Great, practical purchase for beach goer’s.
Quality & value is good! And it’s true, this one is way better than the one at Costco. Thicker aluminum vs thin, delicate plastic. Go for this one! Just used it for a week at the beach & it preformed well even in wind.

Umbrella performance
First time using it the top part blew out of the part in sand. Today second time using I noticed the coupler that holds the umbrella to pole seems to be sliding up pole that I had to put straps on to hold In place. Not happy with umbrella

In the shade at The Beach Club
We used it for 6 days on an Alabama beach vacation and it did a great job. Stayed in the sand and did not blow away or turn inside out. The frame is very sturdy and it was easy to put up. We feel it was a great purchase.

Tight fit of top on frame
The top is a very tight fit so one struggles to open and close the umbrella. A suggestion could be to shorten the length of each strut by 1/4 inch to 3/8 inch, so to create a little play, so to improve to open/close process.

Great new beach umbrella!
Our new Tommy Bahama beach umbrella is stronger, and more secure in the wind than other umbrellas we have bought in the past. In addition, the ability to block the sun is more efficient ! The navy matches our TB chairs perfectly!

We are thrilled with our umbrella!
Since we relocated to South Florida, we knew it was time to invest in a beach umbrella and of course, it would have to be a Tommy Bahama umbrella. This umbrella is easy to carry, easy to put up and take down. Most importantly, provides the perfect amount of shade for two people and it is sturdy enough to withstand a strong ocean breeze!

Wavy Marlin Beach Umbrella
We have purchased many beach umbrellas, unfortunately, they are all in the trash heap. Wavy Marlin Beach umbrella has built in many upgrades other beach umbrellas don’t have ie. steel ribs versus plastic, air vents to allow wind to travel through versus picking up or breaking umbrella. In addition the color, looks and design are second to none!!!

Pretty umbrella! On non windy days it worked great. It did blow away on me once on my beach trip on a super windy day. I think if I could have put it further into the ground this would have been a nonissue. Overall happy with my purchase.

Way to noisy!!!
It holds up in strong wind, 15 to 20 mph. BUT the flaps are very loud and annoying. Other umbrellas on the beach with flaps made little to no noise. Not a good design. Did anyone there try it in high winds. It’s not just a flap every now and then it is constantly fluttering. We had to put it down.

New design needs adjustment
The umbrella is sturdy and good looking. The one feature my old one had, that this one doesn't, is the ability to slide the top portion further down into the base pole. It was much more wind resistant that way. The new design is not quite right.

Wavy Marlin Beach Umbrella sold at Tommy Bahama.
These are the only umbrellas that don't bend. The spokes are made of metal and not plastic as all other umbrellas are, even the "Tommy Bahamas" that are sold at Costco have plastic spokes. I saw how my one Tommy Bahama umbrella stood up to strong trade winds while other umbrellas were bending and getting ruined and went back to buy two more for the whole family. For $20 more you get an umbrella that lasts.

Well made, less adjustable than expected
Tommy Bahama beach umbrellas are made well—the fabric, the tilt mechanism, the vents, the poles… all very nice! This model seems better made than, for example, the TB umbrellas sold at Costco on Maui. The structure is more solid and I have more faith it will withstand stronger winds. It’s also a larger diameter than the Costco offerings.
HOWEVER I was disappointed to find out that the HEIGHT of this umbrella can’t be adjusted, even though some of the cheaper (TB at Costco) models can. That’s a miss, in my opinion. But still happy with it.
