Almost perfect.
The material that the shorts are made from is fantastic...comfortable and stretchy. However, the zipper needs to be about an inch longer, plus the two front belt loops should be back away from the button by about an inch or so.

Not as good as last year's version
I have several pairs of these shorts, purchased over several years. This year's version, with the kangaroo pocketrs, disappoints me. The baggy pockets defeat the designer's attempt to make the shorts sleek.
They all fit well, and I think they look about as good as a pair of cargo shorts can look. I especially liked last year's version, with the snap-flap pockets. Disappointed by this year's kangaroo pockets but wanting something blue, I bought another pair online from two years ago, the version with the button-flap pockets. They're good too, but the button isn't as convenient as the snap flap.
The good news is that they're all comfortable, run true to size, and wear well.

Not as advertised
I ordered these pants thinking the material would be of at litghter weight since they are especially suitable for "warmer climates". WRONG. Colder climates would be more appropriate. Way too heavy. Not soft at all. Hopefully a few washes will help. On the positive side like the fit. True to size. Like the design as well. Wish the lining was like the "old Island Chino Shorts". You can make the product better.

Sublte cargo pockets
I love these so much that I got 2 pair. They're comfortable and look good, but the main reason I bought them was for the "cargo" pockets. They're not bulky like typical cargo pants (also no button to close the pocket), but the hold fone/sunglasses, etc without looking too bulky. I was hoping for 8 or even 7" versions, but they aren't available (and might be a challenge with the pockets)

Not as Good as Original
I love the original Borcay cargo shorts, but these “new and improved” ones aren’t as good. While the new stretchy waist band seems like an improvement, it irritates my skin (as others have commented). The pocket lining no longer has Tommy Bahamalogos printed on it. The old cargo pockets were exactly the right size for a phone or wallet. Now, they’re so big, that stuff flops around in them and I constantly have to adjust what’s in there.

The 2026 Cargo shorts are best ever, and I have several pairs from years prior. Has slight elastic band allowing me to go down one size and fits perfectly. A must have in your closet!

Like the old cargo shorts better.
Bought to replace my old loved Tommy’s cargo shorts. New shorts don’t fit the same, not tapered, more boxy. Old cargo pocket was perfect for iPhones, new pocket is too big, cell phone rattles around while walking the dogs.

Happy to see these cargo shorts available again!
Happy TB brought the Boracay Island Chino Cargo shorts back this year. The fabric seems to be different with a little more weight and structure and a few new colors too but wish TB would bring back the 10 inch length in all its Boracay shorts. If the extra inch is a cost issue, I would happily pay the difference!

Hidden side pocket shorts are back!
So glad Tommy Bahama brought back these classic hidden side pocket shorts. The internal side pockets are not quite as hidden as the prior version but the quality and style are top notch.

Like, but the quality continues to decline
I bought a pair in late June, 2025. They were 10 inches in 2025 and are now only 9 inches long. By the end of the season, late Sept, the button had fallen off and the handle fell off the zipper, something that has happened lately, to numerous pairs of my Tommy shorts. It's not the zipper breaking, it's the piece that holds the zipper's handle onto the zipper itself. I've had probably ten pairs of Tommy shorts have the same problem. Other than that, I liked the fit and the look.
