Just depends, I suppose on cut, style, etc. This one didn't work at all. I tried ordering both and like the medium, I'll be returning the small. It's cute, but it just doesn't fit right. I'll keep trying - just not this style! Not sure how to answer the sizing question below. The medium was too big. The small was too small....
