A Day at the Beach
Chair was grate quality. Very well made….sturdy. The back was a tad bit higher than I expected when looking at picture in catalog, however, once you open it up and sit down you realize the height is totally necessary to support the the shade cover overhead. The shade cover is easy to lower or if you don’t want to use it just fold it back. The chair height is great as well. Easy to get in and out of.

Fell apart after 3 weeks
This chair is terrible. We bought it last year and used it for 3 weeks before one of the screws fell out making the chair useless.

Great chair, a little too big
The height and support of the seat are perfect, and the built-in shade is great for not having to carry extra umbrellas. Unfortunately, it is very big and hard to fit into the trunk of a car. It was too heavy for my 80-year-old father to carry.

Questionable return policy
The chair was fine. It just didn’t fit our needs. The problem was sending it back. It took several trips to UPS or the Postal Service or the FedEx office. I could not get Tommy Bahama to send me back a shipping label to return both chairs. I was told by Tommy Bahama several times that all I needed was one label after multiple calls. They told me the same thing however that was not the case on my end. I finally had to tape both boxes together so I could use one label however that made it quite large and heavy so I was charged over $12 taping the boxes together and printing another label I have bought Tommy Bahama stuff for decades always been very satisfied however returning these chairs was a nightmare still haven’t got my money back.

Suggested Improvements
Chairs fulfilled my expectations as to their height off the ground. However, they should be redesigned to allow better handling. They are very awkward to carry and work with. Perhaps a tighter fit of the parts; perhaps a hand grip or space for a hand to make it easier to carry over long distances (i.e., from the parking lot to the waters edge!).

Great chairs but hard to get in truck

We purchased a second one, we liked it so much.
The perfect addition to our low sitting beach chairs. Great quality always! Not everyone wants to, or is able to, sit in a low chair. My 6 foot husband was able to sit in it and the shade covered him nicely.

Poor quality
The chair was defective and I couldn't even open it to sit on it. The buckle on the strap that keeps the chair together when carrying or storing it was broken and could not be opened. One wooden arm was splintered. The chair was returned. Very disappointed.

Don't waste your money!
I used this chair for 2 months last season and 2 months this season. The canopy NEVER worked correctly. My husband and another male friend would work extraordinarily hard getting it to raise. Today the left wooden handle completely broke away from the rest of the chair. My friends have their WalMart chairs for 3 seasons and they have no problems. It is also way too heavy and cumbersome to carry to the beach daily. The shipping charges I paid add insult to injury since the other chairs ship for free. This purchase was a huge disappointment.

Very pleased
Purchased this as a gift for my Dad who could benefit from a higher chair. Was a nice height, seems well made, the pillow, side pouch and upper shade pouch are nice extras. Some reviews I read people complained about shade being hard to raise and lower but no problem here. Also has carry strap. I was very happy with my purchase and so was my Dad :)

Wish it did not start to rust so soon
The chair hight is great. However, it is very heavy, the sunshade is difficult to use and its starting to rust too quickly. We rinse it every time we use it and it is difficult to get all of the sand off.

Wanted to LOVE this chair
This chair was ordered by my mom (70 y.o.) to use on our beach trips. The height of the chair is perfect for her; however, we have had issues with the hood since day one. Pulling it open has never been easy and it alway required a few people to "play around with it". On our last beach trip, the hood was pull too hard and it completely broke. This product was an expensive purchase, and unfortunately, we will now be looking to replace it.

Chair did not work for me
Had a completely horrible experience with this chair. If I could give it negative stars I would. I am a loyal TB customer but this chair did not work for me at all. First the shade cover would not go up after a few uses on the beach. Sprayed it with WD 40 and still no luck. Tried pulling that piece up really hard while holding on to one of the arm handles and the arm came off. I have loved everything I have ever bought from TB besides this chair. My advice, if you purchase don't bring it to the beach.

Wonderful and beautiful high-back chair
I held the chair and it unfolded easily for me. The shade has a secret pocket. The various reclining levels are easy to use. And I like the bags on the side. It is a bit heavier than my other chair, but this one sits firmly, which I need.

It is well made chair but fails a litle short ---shade not wide enough to cover your shoulders. And bit a heavy to carry to the beach. The seating is too shallow. I can see a big person won't have enough room.
