Love but...
I purchase the Plumeria style (Black with Crystal) via my eye doctor and ordered them with the Bronze tint in my prescription. I did a ton of research, created a spread sheet even, to compare all the styles and sizes. I will start by saying I have worn Maui Jims since 1997; I have owed about 8 different styles and absolutely would not buy any other...they are the best.
The pros and cons of the Plumeria style:
Pro: -love the look. I have a small face and needed a smaller frame. These are stylish but not too so to go out of style anytime soon.
- customized, I love that you can customize the lens color.
Cons: - Hinge. The hinges do not have the spring hinge. It states this but I didn't pay attention as I thought all Jims had a spring hinge. These do not and I have a fear they will stretch over time.
Weight: .500 but most state that...these are heavier than my Cloud Breaks and it states .500
Nose/ bridge: Plumeria has : Saddle-style fixed bridge for additional comfort versus Cloud Break: Saddle-style fixed bridge with embedded rubber nose pads for added comfort...the rubber nose pads make a difference and keep them from sliding.
Style: The black with Crystal frames have a clear back, inside the frame, around the eyes. This illuminates any back light or sunshine almost as a halo around the eyes on the inside...it is something that I have gotten use to but in Florida outside in full sun is still annoying.
I was super excited about these glasses and still like them but I paid a ridiculous amount bc they are prescription (which I was OK with bc they are Jims!). And really what is the most bothering are the hinges. I still have my cloud breaks and have had them for 5 years (prescription as well which is why I needed to update them) but I do not think that the Plumerias will last as long. But lesson learned...try them before you buy them.

Amazing glasses!
Love the Plumeria style and Maui Jim glasses in general! They are super lightweight and crystal clear lenses. I have 2 pairs black with blue Hawaii lenses and tortoise with bronze lenses with readers they are both amazing. And the mahalo for heroes discount is very generous and assures brand loyalty!

Love Maui Jim (but not this one)
Only 4 stars because this style doesn’t suit me. But otherwise a quality pair of shades that I would expect from Maui Jim. (Returned for a refund and bought Little Bell.)

Plumeria fits well on narrow face
The Plumeria sunglasses fit so well. The frames are just the right size! I have a narrow face and most sunglasses look large on me, but not these. They’re made with high quality, durable material. I’ll definitely be a repeat customer! Maui Jim you rock!!!
