FLAWED DESIGN--DON'T BUY
The zipper for the backpack straps comes undone when carrying. I don't understand how this made it passed QC. Unbelievable that Tommy Bahama is selling this product with such a flawed design

Just buy it!
Has been perfect for our beach trip. We pack a few beers and waters in the cooler, towel and book in the bag section, throw it on like a back pack and are set until lunch! Then we do it again in the afternoon. 10/10 would recommend.

Great chair concept with a design flaw
The chairs are very nice and have all the features you'd want for a beach chair with one big drawback. The zipper for the shoulder straps will unzip with a little peeling motion without touching the zipper tab. This happened when my wife was riding her bike with her new chair to go to the beach and it fell off mid-ride and caused a bunch of bruises on her back. A very bad design since both chairs will unzip easily with a little peeling load on the zipper.

Sad to See Design Change
We have 6 of the 2019 chairs and have loved them. We recently received two of these 2020 chairs with the removable backpack. We are definitely not fans of the new design. The top compartment does not close with a zipper, but folds down and with a strap. It is not as easy to access as the old design and doesn't feel as secure. In addition, the zipper under your thighs manages to inadvertently unzip. I am disappointed in the changes. I have two more chairs on my list as Christmas gifts, but will likely not get them unless the old design returns.

I have two big problems with this chair. I put the straps on and it came unzipped and fell off my back. Zipped it back on and noticed I will never feel secure with both straps on. Sitting on it the support bar is uncomfortable in the back of my legs no matter what position I'm in..

Comfortable with some major flaws
Great looking chair and works well, but the backpack straps are removable on a zipper, and when taking the straps off, the weight of the chair unzips the zipper and the chair is left hanging off your back holding on only by the base of the straps. Major design flaw and very frustrating/painful. Also the top pouch doesn’t zip shut or have a draw string. Definitely not the best Tommy Bahama product or chair I’ve owned.

Broke on Second Use
Design wise, the chair is everything I could ask for and more. However, a week or 2 after purchasing, we packed them up and hauled them to our beach vacation and on the second day of use, the buckle to the chair's backpack strap broke. We called the local Tommy Bahama store and they were unable to help, so with how short our trip was, we had to tie the strings together to be able to use the backpack function. For such an expensive chair to break that early is extremely disappointing.

Hi I’m disappointed I paid 70$ Each for 2 chairs and Everytime we use them they unzipper on the back pack part. For a chair that expensive it should not be happening.

Excellent folding chair
Wide seat is very nice. Sturdy with storage. Easy to carry and very light. Very comfortable and as a larger person able to fit comfortably with extra space unlike most folding chairs. Wish it came in more colors and was a bit higher off the ground

Beach chair with backpack
it is a great chair! The only issue I have is the storage pouch at the top only has a buckle and not a zipper. A zipper would be slightly more convenient so things don’t fall out. Other than that it’s a great chair

After many years of renting chairs, we finally got smart and bought these. They are perfect for the beach. So easy to open, close and the backpack feature frees your hands. The back pouches (one for cold things) allow you to pack all you need for beach fun.
