Very Happy with Kumu glasses
I've had my Kumu glasses for 2 weeks. Very light weight. My previous Maui Jims have brown lenses, and I am liking the Kumu's gray lens with blue overlay much better. The view is less bright than with out the sunglasses, but the color is not altered like my brown lenses. Very comfortable. I like the collapsable case that comes with glasses. Thank you Maui Jim for my nurse discount- VERY much appreciated.

My new Kumu sunglasses
I like them a lot. Only 2 things why a 4 star and not 5. One is that they didn’t have gloss black frames for the red lenses and second is that the arms over my ear are way too long. Wish that could be customized.

Broken at the Bridge. (sad face)
I haven't had these Kumu for too long. I've had the nut on the temples come out and the sleeve on the temple comes off all of the time. Not sure where to go from here. I like the Banyans my husband has and this will be my 3rd pair of Maui Jim's. I just don't like the KUMU.
Off they go for a major repair.

One of my pairs keeps falling apart
Design is amazing, they fit beautifully HOWEVER one of my two pairs keeps falling apart. The plastic nut which connects the lens to the nose bridge simply keeps failing. No particular reason, literally falls apart in my hands. Sent it off for the second time to repair. I feel it may be a manufacturing defect, but Maui Jim won’t accept it, so keep repairing. Not acceptable for such an expensive pair. I’d expect a replacement on second failure.

Love them! I have always had the amber lenses before, but decided to try blue for a change. Slightly darker but still great visibility on the water for skiing and paddle boarding. Super comfortable frames that you can put up on your head without causing damage. Very happy with these, as with my other pair in amber.

I received my new Maui Jim's sunglasses very quickly and love them, I have had your sunglasses for almost 20 years. Once I received my new one's I sent my old ones back to be repaired so I would now have two pair. The money has been well spent, any time I have bought a different pair from the store they don't even last a month. Thank you

Great Kumu Sunglasses, Flimsy Tri-Fold Case
The Maui Jim Kumu with blue lenses is great! However, the tri-fold case that Maui Jim has supplied with the Kumu is flimsy - it is not very sturdy.! I have owned other Maui Jim sunglasses that came with a hard clam shell case that really protected the sunglasses and helped them last for years. The Kumu does not fit into either the small or large Maui Jim hard clam shell cases that I have, so I am forced to use the "cheap" tri-fold case that was supplied with the Kumu. The Kumu are very expensive sunglasses, and the tri-fold case does not provide enough protection. The tri-fold case is cool when it is not in use and folds flat, but frankly I need the case to provide protection when in use more so than provide a cool folding function. I think that Maui Jim should redesign the case for the Kumu.

Very effective
I like the Kumu style very much. My only minor complaint is that it is slightly larger than the Kanapali
style which I wore for approximately ten years, but is now discontinued.

Good shades.
Good shades. Frame - simple and keeps shades sitting firm wo noticing shades are on. Upgrade from the Windwards in terms of comfort and security. Lenses, look sturdy, but the quality is just ok. My previous Windwards lenses were amazing. These, I can't say I am excited. -1 star - shades came in with finger prints and little dust (not a MJ experience, but).
Overall, happy. And, blue lenses look better.

Amazing lenses, weak frame
I can't tell you how much I both love and hate these sunglasses. The nose piece connection has broken twice in as many years from normal use. There are no hinges, so the stress of taking them on and off is entirely on the nose bridge. The part that keeps the bridge to the lenses are just plastic and not very durable. I should have to pay to repair the cheap piece of plastic that breaks every 10 months. That describes the hate. The love is simple: there are no better lenses on the market. Maui Brilliant lenses are just that.
