Purchased this chair because of the height, not being so close to the ground. It is perfect especially as you get older. Just wish I had ordered one for my husband when I ordered mine. Guess he will be getting one in the future.

I really wanted to like this chair...
I like the idea of this chair although the sun shade at the top does not open or close easily.
I was disappointed in the condition of the chair when I received it and I was going to contact
Tommy Bahama but never got around to it...there were scratches on the arms and the end of the armrest was dinged up a bit (I should have know by the condition of the box but all the same, not too happy considering the price).

Complete Comfort
Complete comfort with added protection. I've had 2 hip replacements and a new knee. Easy to get in and out of. I love the added sun protection however if you want more sun you can lift it up. Really great chair!

Highboy with shade beach chair
The mechanism for the “Shade” does not work. Poorly designed. It will not lift up or down. I bought two chairs and both have the same issue. The good news is Tommy Bahama readily refunds your money.

One small glitch!
Perfect size all around. Canopy positions work very well. Only downfall is the way the arms flap about when the chair is closed making it difficult to carry.

Hook under chair arm
Great chair, best I’ve had in 50 years! But what is the hook under the right arm intended for? I put a small carabiner on it to hang my keys but I’m not sure that what it’s really for?

Sturdy & comfortable. Noticeably easier to sit and get up as compared to the deluxe backpack beach chairs. The adjustable shade provides satisfactory sun protection when moved with the position of the sun. We have not used our umbrella since receiving the Highboys (one less item to carry). The chair is a bit heavy for seniors, but the padded strap & carry handle do offer some options for getting from the car to the beach. We do miss the cooler and zippered pouches on the back of the chair. Very happy with the purchase overall.

Very disappointed!!
Bought this in December and sat in the box until it got a bit warmer. Finally took it to the beach two weeks ago and it was great. My wife brought it back to the beach yesterday. She got up to turn the chair more towards the sun, sat back down, and it promptly broke at the arm rest! Second time used! I have just had the second one delivered and it hasn't been taken out of the box and I believe I will be sending it back. For the price, that is really unacceptable. I've always been a loyal TB fan, but this was really a swing and a miss.

Just another rust bucket
All my TB chairs rust at the pivots.
Wonder when they will step up.
I'm looking for replacements now.
Replace cheep pivot joints with Stainless bolts , Lock nuts, charge me a little more. Replace the cheep plastic parts or beef them up, get rid of any low carbon steel.
I'll pay more , but right now, no way.

Just one thing wrong
Have been looking to replace a 40 year old canopied beach chair from my days on Fire Island over 40 years ago. Everything I tried recently has been cheaply made and terrible. I was hoping this chair would be the answer-and it almost is, However, there are times when I want the sun and having that flexibility is important to me. If the canopy would fold all the way to the back of the chair (lying flat on the back of the chair), it would be perfect. Close, but no cigar.

Great chair but large and heavy
I bought this chair for my husband and he loves it. I would buy one for myself however, I will not because it is heavy and hard to carry. I wish they had on just an inch or two lower and maybe weigh a bit less.
