Why not 5 Star’s?
This is our 5th TB beach chair. Well made, comfy. Why 4 stars? Not crazy about the backpack, the backs with 2 zippered pouches are more functional. Would like to see future chairs with drink pouches on both sides of arms. Not all of us are right handed ;)

Don't buy this model, but love Tommy Bahama chairs
Ordered this chair, because I thought the design/color was perfect as a gift to my sister-in-law, but I didn't realize the backpack straps zip off and will fail sooner or later. Upon receipt I decided to return the chair. TB took care of it, without question, and I will buy another TB beach chair eventually.

Poor quality
During one year I had to buy two chairs for my husband. One chair was broken after 2
months usage so I had to buy another chair and the same story happened: 3 months later the arm of the chair broke and it was impossible to use it. My husband is 225 lbs but the chair is supposed to state a 300lb weight limit. Now we have two very expensive pieces of garbage((

Backpack carrying straps do not stay zipped!
We bought five of these expensive chairs expecting typical Tommy Bahama beach chair quality that we had in the past. We specifically chose these because of the backpack feature to make it easier for everyone in the family to carry their own chair to the beach. The straps are attached to the chair with a zipper for some reason and it does not stay zipped, so as soon as you put it on your back, the straps unzip and the chair falls to the ground. We've resorted to wrapping duct tape around each zipper which is ridiculous considering how much we spent on the chairs. So disappointed as we "treated ourselves" with these expensive chairs expecting them to be high quality.

Needs a stronger backpack strap.
The backpack strap has already broken off. It broke the second day I used it. The plastic strap broke so now you cannot connect it and the material at the top cams off too. For as much as they cost, it is disappointing.

Don’t buy this!!!
I am incredibly disappointed in these chairs. I should have listened to the reviews. The stitching is poor and looks cheap. The zippers are super flimsy and don’t lock closed; on one of my chairs the end of it was sewn into the strap so it couldn’t close properly. Nevertheless I remained optimistic; I was going to the beach and I needed something to sit on. The ten minute walk to the beach turned into a nightmare when we discovered the zippers would come unzipped at the slightest provocation (if you picked it up by the wrong strap, if you put any weight on the wrong strapwhile putting the backpack on) and even without provocation- every twenty steps or so one or the other chairs would spontaneously unzip and crash to the ground, whacking the back of your legs, stalling traffic, and spilling anything you had in the top pocket out onto the ground (the upper pocket doesn’t even have a closure, you’re meant to just fold it over.) By the time we got to the beach on the first day one of the backpack straps had completely frayed and is now only held to the zipper and chair by the binding. Comfortable to sit in but a complete waste of money as the hassle these take to carry makes me unwilling to go to the beach ever again. At least if they had a shoulder strap of some kind they would still be useable; unfortunately, there’s only a handle on top of the chair which, at 5’6”, I have to clutch up at my chest to keep the chair from dragging on the ground. If you want a chair that might last 20 minutes’ use as a backpack, by all means try this product. Just make sure not to actually put anything besides maybe a towel in the pouches (any weight exacerbates the problem) and have a friend on hand to help you zip it back up every other minute if you want to use your hands to hold anything. But I would highly recommend DONT BUY- this brand is abusing its reputation to peddle total ripoff products at high prices.

Beach Chair
This chair does not live up to the Tommy Bahama hype. Due to the removable backpack on the chair, the entire chair unzips and falls off as you are walking to/from the beach. It was a major waste of 70 dollars. I have another brand that is similar in price and style that does not fall apart like this one.

Horrible...BROKE first day out on beach
Arm of chair broke on the first day on the beach, one hour into the trip, the very first time I got out of it. I’m 245 lbs, but a chair that states a 300 lb weight limit shouldn’t break the very first time it’s used. I now have a very expensive piece of garbage.

Zipper malfunction
The chair looks great and is comfortable. However, the zipper that connects the shoulder straps is terrible and comes unzipped everytime I attempt to put it on my back, causing the chair to fall to the ground. Terrible design in zipper closure.

Best Beach Chair
Love the chair - sits great! The bottom is wider than normal chairs so makes it really roomy and nice to sit in. The only issue is one of the straps used to tote the chair on your back came unsown after one use so now we cannot carry on our backs.

Zipper harness
The zipper that hold the harness straps on your shoulders, constantly comes unzipped and the chairs fall off of your back! AWEFUL plastic zipper!

Hibiscus Beach Chair
Ordered this chair because of the cute pattern! I expected this to be high quality because of the brand and price point. The first time I put this on my back using the backpack feature one strap ripped almost completely off. I emailed customer service and since the chairs were sold out, I received a full refund. The chair is still usable and the strap can probably be sewn back together, but disappointing.

Poorly Designed
I love the color and comfort of these chairs but they are the worst design I have ever come across. Do not waste your money on these. The backpack strap is a zipper attached to the chair (not sure why that makes sense in the design) so you cannot actually use the chair to carry on your back without the chair coming unzipped... repeatedly. I also had another chair come with a broken stitch in the zipper seam so it will slowly break as well. Furthermore, the chair is only able to close when you put it on its back, thus getting sand in all of the compartments on the back. I wish I spent my money elsewhere.
