The same occurred with a second pair. I liked them well enough to take to a professional seamstress for a new zipper. She confirmed that the zippers used in these were of extremely low quality. Not what you’d expect for a pair of $125 shorts. TB customer support was of no help either.

Rated 4 out of 5 by KenAZ from Mostly Comfortable with Minor Issues I'm 6'5", so the extended length of these shorts are a great fit. However, I would have liked a slightly longer rise, and a gusset in the crotch. Also, if the pockets were a tad farther forward they would be more comfortable, and you could put your hands in them without the shorts flaring out and looking ridiculously skirt-like. A more forgiving stretch on the waist would also add to the comfort. After an afternoon of wear the material still looked crisp and was not wrinkled. All in all, better than the average short I've found. I bought two pairs, same size, different colors, and the fit at the waist was different with each. One was slightly tighter. Consistency is always appreciated. Would like to buy a third pair in a different color, but unsure what fit I'll get, and don't want to risk the shipping cost.

I wore them golfing the day after I received them and was very happy. The zipper pocket (adjacent to right front pocket) fits my iPhone 6plus in a secure location. The lining is breathable and comfortable. The appearance of the fabric close up is my only negative. It looks to almost have a pattern to it where I prefer a smoother appearance.
