I expected better
I like the anchorx design, however if you want to sit near the water this umbrella won't work. The handles are not strong enough to get the point all the way in to the sand. It only works in the soft sand. After using the umbrella twice I've noticed that the sand point has started to put a hole on the the umbrella top.
I purposely spent extra money because I thought I was getting a better product. That is not what I got.

Very sturdy & durable at a good price
Saw this at the Jersey shore. The family who had it loved it. Solid construction with the umbrella portion held up by aluminum struts, not your typical rods that blow open or bend. Has a strong durable auger and handle to secure into the sand. Also like the fold down fabric and metal stabilizer to keep the pole even more secure in the sand. It came sooner than expected.
The price is worth it for the extra features you get versus the traditional beach umbrella.

What an upgrade!!
We really liked the old umbrella and were a little wary of the design change. It is so much sturdier. So much easier to put in sand and remove. So glad we upgraded!

Best Beach Umbrella Ever
This is the best beach umbrella we’ve ever owned and we’ve owned plenty. It’s sturdy (holds up against the wind), easy to open and close not to mention provides optimal protection from the sun.

The best beach umbrella yet
I first saw this umbrella on a very windy gulf coast beach. It was the only one not blowing over or inverting in the wind. Between the stabilizing base and metal ribs of the frame, this umbrella handled the strong wind with ease. So, I ordered one and have been completely satisfied with its performance.
Though this unbrella is an outstanding performer, you still must be sensible about how you set it up. If you angle it such that it "scoops" the wind like a sail, of course it will be challenged as other reviewers have said. There is a relief vent at the top, despite what other reviews have said. So, if set up properly it will work great. Highly recommend.

A sturdy beach umbrella with its own stand!
This umbrella was a Christmas gift for my daughter and son-in-law. Their home is in Maine and this is the winter time. However, when they opened the umbrella they were delighted! It was well made and sturdy. They really liked the built-in stand instead of a less effective separate type that had previously used. They are confident this umbrella will last, and hold up in the wind too!

We have had TB beach umbrellas for many years, but this one is above and beyond any others. Sturdy construction, high quality canvas with light reflecting coating. The skirt on the pole that goes on top of
the sand helps keep the umbrella stable in wind. We live in a windy place where we’ve had to tie sand bags onto the umbrellas to keep
them standing. Not
with this one!

Secure on windy days
I asked my beach-loving friends for an umbrella recommendation, Tommy Bahama was most mentioned. Even though my TB umbrella was pricey, I followed the advice and am happy I did. The best thing is how secure it seems. It’s scary when beach umbrellas take flight on a windy day, the added canvas layer to fill with sand, takes that stress away.

Easy to install, and withstands high winds
It's easy to twist into the sand, either with the handles or without them. I noticed that you don't have to apply a ton of downward pressure, so just twist it easy and don't push too hard on the handles. My husband's approach was to really press down hard while twisting, so he didn't trust the handles enough and just held onto the pole. During big gusts of wind, the older Tommy Bahama umbrellas in my family group (purchased from Costco) inverted easily. This one is so well-made and sturdy, it just wiggled a bit in the wind but did not come out of the ground or invert. I highly recommend spending the extra bucks on this model!

Easy to set up and very stable in the wind
Easy to set up and very stable in the breeze on the beach. The supports for the umbrella are of cast aluminum and do a great job of keeping everything shaded without wobble. Good product!

It’s ok
The anchor doesn’t open evenly easily, you put a corner down the another goes up, and it’s also not high enough up to drill deep enough into the ground which feels a bit unstable, but it’s pretty and fits 2 chairs and a beach bag underneath.
