The Humane Society of the United States
IN SUPPORT OF ANIMALS EVERYWHERE
We’re proud to announce that we’re teaming up with The Humane Society of the United States. We’ve pledged to donate 5% of the proceeds from our pet collection to support their Animal Rescue Team. This program not only assists animals affected by such things as natural disasters, but also provides resources and education to make us all better prepared for future emergencies.
BE READY FOR ANYTHING
When it comes to helping animals in an emergency, knowledge is key and preparation is everything. The Humane Society of the United States’ Animal Rescue Team offers resources for handling unexpected circumstances. Here are a few tips to help keep your pet safe in an emergency:
- Make sure your pet has up-to-date ID. Add your cell phone number to their tag and have him or her microchipped.
- Put together a disaster kit. Include at least five days of food and water, medications and medical records, tools for pet waste removal, sturdy leashes, harnesses or carriers, current pet photos, and pet beds and toys.
- Make evacuation plans for you and your pet. If you must leave home, take your pet with you. Find one or more safe places ahead of time that can accommodate you and your pet.
- Prepare for everyday emergencies. Accidents or travel issues may prevent you from getting home to your pet. Arrange a backup caretaking plan with your friends, family or neighbors.
