Loggerhead Marinelife Center & Tommy Bahama
Meet Our New Friend Tommy B
This big guy is a juvenile green turtle. He was found floating, injured, near the Fort Pierce Inlet on Florida’s eastern coast. Tommy Bahama is partnering with Loggerhead Marinelife Center to help our namesake recover.
Tommy B’s upper shell was damaged from a boat strike. Initial radiographs showed a large amount of gas in the intestinal tract that was impinging on his lungs. At Loggerhead Marinelife Center he was treated with fluids and antibiotics, and placed into freshwater to remove leeches. Check out Tommy B’s progress here.
