Jeans designed specifically for life in the tropics, this unique pair offers lightweight comfort and a soft hand feel you'll love. A square yard of their denim weighs just 9.5 ounces (standard denim is 12+ ounces per yard) and, with a generous amount of Tencel® lyocell (renowned for its smooth, dry hand and amazing ability to manage moisture), they feel incredibly light and soft against your skin.

Classic fit: Narrow seat, slim thigh and slightly tapered from knee to ankle.

Pants are a little too loose around the butt.
Waist size and pant length are accurate. Fabric is great. I didn't realize the fit was quite so roomy around the butt. I like my jeans to fit a little more snuggly so I won't be wearing these as often as I'd like.

What happened to USA denim?
Very disappointed in these jeans - in fact, I hesitate calling them jeans. I expected good old USA denim and instead got this flimsy stuff!! And it wasn't black, either, which I thought I ordered... call me old fashioned, but when I buy jeans I want the same kind that have been around for a hundred years! Sturdy, durable, rugged, comfortable jeans. And black is black, not this fake "overdye" stuff. Very disappointed... and I've been a loyal Tommy Bahama customer for at least a dozen years. I'll think twice about ever buying Tommy jeans again. A sad day for jeans in America....

We are sorry to hear that the Classic Island Ease Overdye Jean didn’t work out for you. We currently do not have any “true” black denim. We chose the overdye process since it adds unique highs and lows to the jean.
If you are not just looking for black, we do carry a heavier denim that you may like. Our Standard Straight Leg Roy Jean is a 10oz denim and our Classic Stevens Park jeans is a 11.5 oz denim, compared to our Classic Island Ease Overdye jean which is a 9.5oz.

I knew I would like the feel of these "black" jeans because of the soft feel of the Tencel lyocell fabric. And I knew that an on-line purchase would get around the reduced size options at my local clothing store. The free shipping was a bonus. What I did not expect is how well the "tropical jeans" worked with a jacket for dress up and more formal situations.

Nice Jeans
I purchased these jeans for my husband in both the dark (almost black wash) and a regular denim. The jeans are soft and comfortable (according to my husband). He wears a 36, and these jeans run true to size. They washed up well, with minimal shrinking. A must buy! Though I am writing this review on behalf of my husband, I have been sure to put in his measurements, and such.
